A few weeks back, I got a chance to chat with my dear friends Pat and Garrett from the killer band The Maine. I met these guys 12 years ago as they passed through Illinois on their first ever tour as The Maine. They played a small hole in the wall venue in a strip mall in front of maybe 40 people and it was clear they were going to do something special even that early on. I tried to sign them to Fueled By Ramen all the way back then but they passed (we talk about it in the interview!) We remained great friends for a long time and our paths continually cross. I've used them as an example in a ton of different circumstances because they always find the right way to do things and have grown their fan base by always putting in the extra work and being more creative than a lot of other bands. I highly recommend listening through a bunch of their interviews they've done as they have special insight into a lot of avenues of music. Much respect and enjoy!
