THE DANGEROUS SUMMER 18 February 2018

I got to see one of my favorite bands (and one I believe to be severely underrated) The Dangerous Summer last night in Santa Ana, CA. Before I tell you a story about the band, make sure you check out both openers The Band Camino and Microwave. The Band Camino are a new band that's growing quickly and Microwave has been a band that's put out 2 killer full lengths. Do yourself a favor and rock both.

I've been a fan of every record The Dangerous Summer has put out over the last 10 years and they've always delivered a live show to match the emotion and intensity of their songs. The lyrics hit hard at various points in your life and take on new meaning the more you grow alongside them. Every fan was devastated when the band announced their hiatus in 2013. Again, they had never released bad music so it was a bummer to lose a band with that kind of consistency and heart.

In early 2017, I received a random message from AJ Perdomo who was the singer of TDS asking if I had any producer ideas if they were to make new music. I was so stoked but the catch was that no one could find out. That was a tough secret to celebrate by myself for 6 months until they made the record and dropped the news. I work with an incredible producer named James Paul Wisner who's made legendary records with Underoath, Further Seems Forever, Dashboard Confessional, Paramore, Academy Is, Gatsbys American Dream and literally so many more. I suggested that AJ and James get to know each other because I know the history of both parties would feel right. All felt right and on they went to make their self titled reunion/comeback record we all now know and love. I'm thankful that it feels like it all worked out how it was supposed to. It was an honor to play a super tiny role in ensuring the comeback was done properly and the band was able to see their vision through. Judging by the sold out show last night and shows throughout their current tour, I'm not the only one stoked to have them back.

Welcome back boys and thank you. Here's to 10 more records.
